I think that Anne Frank was a thoughtful, funny person who had to endure a lot of hardships through her short life. She influenced many people.I think that she is one of the bravest girl from the times of the Holocaust. |

Hi! my name is Celeste, and I am 13 years old. The first time that I have ever read the Diary of Anne Frank was a few weeks ago at Kennedy Middle School.In my opinion, the book was very moving. The story did not relate to me or my family, because my parents were from Korea and they are not Jewish. Although the book does not affect my life, it really made me think about how thankful I should be for my freedom and my family. In the book, Anne was separated from her friends and family at the concentration camps, and the war changed her life and eventually ended it as well. This is a very important book and deserves to be read in schools. Last summer, my mom bought this book for me to read, but I was not interested. After reading it at school, I would be willing to read it again. |

Our class acted out "The Diary of Anne Frank" and we also watched several movies about her life before and after Anne was sent to the concentration camp. I thought that the book and the movies were boring and didn't really relate to me because I know that I will never have to go through what Anne went through, but I know that "The Diary of Anne Frank" is well-loved around the world. Even though that I never went through what Anne did, I still think that Anne Frank made a good role model for everyone. |

Anne's diary may very well be one of the best books of the 20th century. I was inspired by her story and heartbroken at the ending, which concluded so abruptly. Her positive attitude and sheer human goodness makes her a good role model all of humanity should strive to achieve for. Every character felt really human (they were, but they really seemed to come alive, with thoughts and personalities and feelings.) The Van Daans quarreled with each other, Anne with her mother, and Dussel with everyone! The part with Anne's relationship with Peter was touching but it was only OK overall. Anne really would have been an accomplished woman had she survived the concentration camps.
A quote from the play version sums up my thoughts about her. "She puts me to shame." |

The Diary of Anne Frank was ok.I really didn't get why only Mr. Frank would survive. I thought Mrs.Van Daan would have survived the most because she is very greedy.I also thought Mr.Van Daan would have survived too because he was the one who stole the food secretly.The death of Anne Frank was very sad.She had so much potential but she died at such a young age.If she were to survive, she would have ben a great writer even till now.Although I only read a part of this book,it was a great experience to read.I also found another book that experiences a young boy who was also in the same situation as Anne Frank. The book is called "The boy in the Blue Striped Pajamas".I recommend this book although I haven't read it yet. |

I read the play "Diary of Anne Frank" and saw the movie as well in school. I felt terrible about how the story ended. Having to stay in hiding made Anne a more understanding and kind person, but soon after, she was captured. It was sad that Anne believed people were all good, despite what Nazis were doing to the Jews. But reading this story was useful for me. It gave me a great idea of how Jewish families were forced to live during the holocaust. |

I read the play of The Diary of Anne Frank in class and watched several movies about her life before she went to the concentration camps and when she was them. I think it was really sad how almost her whole family, including her, passed away because of the Holocaust's concentration camps. Even though she had to be locked up in a tiny hiding place for so long, she managed to make the most of it and have a fairly well time. She wrote in her journal and talked about serious topics with Peter, so they learned much from each other. I think the story of Anne Frank was really good and I would like the read the book someday! |

Anne Frank has touched my heart. That sounds kinda dumb but ignore it. Anyways, the book was a brilliant inspirational book that filled my thirst for reading. I was required to read this book for my literature class, although it isn't my favorite genre. I'm also forced to write this comment. My favorite character was probably Mr. Frank, don't ask why, but he made everything all right for everyone and when they went through bad times he was the one who fixed it all. |

My language arts class recently read the Diary of Anne Frank, converted into a play. We also watched two movies. I think that one of the reasons why Anne's writing has impacted the world in such a big way is that she wrote in a candid manner. She entrusted brutally honest secrets and heartfelt feelings to her diary, never imagining that it might be eventually read by the world. People can see the harsh effects of the holocaust through Anne's eyes. Anne's life was one strewn with sorrow and strife. The two years that she spent in hiding severely limited her movement. It's a wonder she didn't go mad! And then, when the Allies were on the verge of liberating the families in hiding, the gestapo found them. It's sad that after a long time of tiptoeing about in fear, their lives were so carelessly torn apart. When my class watched a movie concerning the events that occurred after Anne and the others in hiding were discovered, I could feel the anguish each of them must have felt as they were scattered, endured mistreatment, and died one by one in separate concentration camps. It gives me a sense of loss to think to much about the fate of Anne Frank. Her life, one of passion and animation, was cut short in a place of depression and grief. In an ideal world, something like that would never happen. |

My class read and saw 2 movies on Anne Frank her life story touched me in a way that no other persons story or life has gotten my intrest in before. I'm not really the type of person thats into biography's and stuff but this was unique, well for me. Seeing how she had to learn to put up with others and not being able to do much and being bored during hidding was well really different. I've never seen someone so depressed yet so intresting at the same time.... I guess its just a reality check for me, another thing is when they got caught and were put into the concentration camps instead of just giving up hope they still were there for eachother. Yet Mr.Frank was the only survivor every single member of the family are all still alive.... in their spirits living on their life like they should be. |
