Don Lanave has already been repatriated from Yugoslavia, and his declaration attests to the inhumane conditions in which numerous Italians are still imprisoned in Yugoslavia. He also pleads for the Italian authorities to intervene on behalf of the Italian prisoners abbandoned in Yugoslavia. The letter contains two names of prisoners that tried to escape and were shot and killed.
