Notes:
No cover letters are available for the lists of Jews from Sliven, which are therefore undated. The organization name (Commissariat of Jewish Affairs) and generating agency are inferentially based on the provenance of corresponding lists from other Bulgarian cities. This list appears to include the entire Jewish community of Sliven. It is organized by households, with the street address given. There were 143 households, some consisting of only one individual. Also given are family relationships within each household, the age of each individual, and the profession of each individual. Men who were away on forced labor service are so noted ("mobilized"). The list is typed, with the exception of the entries covering the last two households (four individuals) which were handwritten. This list corresponds in format to those prepared by the Commissariat for the Jews of Bulgarian-annexed Yugoslav Macedonia and northern Greece, who were gassed at Treblinka after being deported by Bulgarian authorities.
