According to the Austrian Press and Information Service, The National Fund of the Republic of Austria for the Victims of National Socialism was established to provide a one-time restitution payment to Holocaust survivors of Austrian origin. The National Fund maintains a database which currently (as of 3/96) contains the names of c. 18000 Holocaust survivors of Austrian origin worldwide (according the Dr. Oliver Rathkolb of the University of Vienna, the National Fund estimates that a total of c. 150000 Austrian Jews survived the Holocaust). This database may eventually be made available for research.
