Captured German records collection (reference assistance is available in room 15-W 1) contains 64 reels of microfilm with the following types of documentation related to inmates interned in the Buchenwald concentration camp: 1) Alphabetically arranged questionnaires inmates were required to fill out upon arrival. Entries include birthdate and place, religion, occupation, nationality, 'race,' parents' names (including mother's maiden name), number of children, name of spouse, and a physical description. If an inmate was later transferred to another camp or died in Buchenwald, that information is noted. 2) Questionnaires completed after liberation. Entries include birthdate, nationality, religion, home address, occupation, date of arrest, places of detention and planned destination after leaving Buchenwald. 3) Register of deaths from December 2, 1942-December 31, 1943 and from October 15, 1944-April 19, 1945. 4) Numerical registers of Buchenwald inmates. 5) Lists of transports that went to Buchenwald. 6) Death records (from Jeffrey K.
