Abstract:
Contains alphabetical listing (p. 256-268) of 1,051 individuals who were part of the 'Kladovo-Transport,' a group of mostly Viennese Jews who left Austria in 1939 headed for Palestine via the Danube. The individuals in this list were all murdered in Yugoslavia during the period October 1941-May 1942 after their transport was halted in that country in 1940 because of a problem with transit visas. Entries include date of birth or age and in some cases where the individual was born or was a resident (n.b. there are a number of biographies of these individuals as well as of individuals from the transport who were able to escape once they were in Yugoslavia in the first section of the book).
