Abstract:
Listing ('AB Transport Dn/a 5.10.1943') of 1,196 children and their 53 caregivers who were transferred from Theresienstadt to Auschwitz on 5 Oct. 1943. The transport arrived at Auschwitz on 7 Oct. 1943. All of the children were killed the same day in the gas chambers (information from THE AUSCHWITZ CHRONICLE). The 1,196 children had originally been deported from Bialystok to the Theresienstadt ghetto. The children's parents were shot during the Bialystok ghetto uprising (16-10 Aug. 1943). Entries in the list include birth year and mother's and father's names. For more information concerning these transports see also: Czech, Danuta. AUSCHWITZ CHRONICLE., p. 501 and Greenfield, Hanna.
