HIAS (Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society) maintains Arrival Index Cards from 1909-1979. Cards until 1949 are arranged by year, then alphabetically by the surname of 'the head of the travelling party.' From 1950 to 1979, the cards are arranged by the HIAS 'Case Name Indexing (Soundex) System.' Requests can be made directly to HIAS and should include name, year of arrival, port of entry in USA, and the names of others in the travelling party. Additional biographical information would also be helpful
