- According to Rachel Kostanian, Executive Director of the Jewish State Museum in Vilnius, a 'Vilnius Record' exists in the Lithuanian State Archives which lists individuals incarcerated in the Vilnius ghetto in 1942. The 14,300 names on the 'record' include birth date, profession, and ghetto address and are grouped by families. The author questions the validity of the profession information due to frequent attempts made by ghetto inhabitants to pass as artisans to increase their chance of survival.

Abstract:
Volume one lists approximately half of the Vilnius Ghetto prisoners, arranged by dwelling, house and street. Volume two lists inhabitants of the Kailis, Baltoji Voke, Bezdonys, Kena, Riese, "Giesler" (in Pabrade), Petesa, Uztrakis and Voke farmstead Forced Labor Camps. Entries in the v. 1 include name, date or year of birth, occupation, and ghetto address [questions have been raised as to the validity of the occupational information due to the frequent attempts made by ghetto inhabitants to pass as artisans so as to increase their chance of survival]. Most entries for v. 2 include name, relationship within the household (ie. head of household, wife, daughter, son, boarder, etc.), date or year of birth, place of birth, religion, occupation and "employer", except for the listings of the Labor Camp in Riese (p. 145-150) which include only name, occupation and "employer." A name index to both volumes is found in v. 2, p. 180-329.

- "In Volume one [are] the lists of the prisoners who lived in the so-called Greater Ghetto [...] which served as a ghetto in Vilnius until September 23, 1943. During archival research it was discovered that the lists were part of the May 1942 General Population Census of Lithuania. Among the materials pertaining to the census, new documents were discovered, among them the lists of the 'Kailis' Jewish labor camp (situated in another part of the city), as well as various lists and documents on Jewish camps set up outside of Vilnius, but pertaining to the Vilnius Ghetto structurally. Some of them were created after the census and, therefore, were not included in the census lists. Separate lists were sometimes made for these camps [These are included in v. 2.]"--V. 2, p. 45.
