NAMES OF HUNGARIAN JEWISH WOMEN IN THE STUTTHOF CONCENTRATION CAMP by Beate and Serge Klarsfeld Foundation (ID: 31250)
Title or Main Description:
- NAMES OF HUNGARIAN JEWISH WOMEN IN THE STUTTHOF CONCENTRATION CAMP by Beate and Serge Klarsfeld Foundation
- The book contains names of c. 16000 Hungarian Jewish women compiled from numerous sources found in the Stutthof Camp Museum. These women were sent to Stutthof from Auschwitz (primarily through Riga) in July and August 1944. The listing is organized by Maiden name and also includes: husband's name, birth place and date, prisoner number, and sometimes parents' names. This information was compiled from the Stutthof camp records held by the Stutthof Camp Museum, Poland. The collection has been microfilmed by the USHMM Archives (see RG 04058). Methodology involved computerizing sections of the camp registry book which included Hungarian prisoners. This data was then compared to and augmented by the individual prisoner cards for the camp. Additional collections such as arrest certificates were also used. Samples of these documents are included in the text of the book
