Provenance:
- Created by the World Jewish Congress, a portion of this photographic collection was obtained by the Survivors Registry of the USHMM. The Survivors Registry did not obtain copies but only so-called 'duplicate originals' or 'doubles.' In cases where only one original existed, it remained with the American Jewish Archives in Ohio, and copies were not made for the USHMM. Such photographs as were obtained by the Survivors Registry were transferred to the USHMM Photo Archives in May 1995.
- The complete photographic collection described here, as well as the approximately 700 name lists that comprise rest of this large collection of archival materials known as 'The World Jewish Congress Collection' is held by the American Jewish Archives in Cincinnatti, Ohio (website: http://www.americanjewisharchives.org), and were identified by former Director of the Registry of Holocaust Survivors, Ms. Sarah Ogilvie. The microfilm was purchased by the Registry of Holocaust Survivors from the American Jewish Archives, and then transferred to the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum Archives Collections in 1997 as Accession Number 1997.A.0235.
