Data for this book was culled from the 42 'gedenkboeken' (memorial books) published by the Dutch 'Oorlogsgravenstichting' (War Graves Foundation) in the Hague. The Dutch Red Cross, the Rijksinstitut voor Oorlogsdokumentarie and the Ministries of Defense and Foreign Affairs all contributed to these listings. Where possible, data was verified with census bureau records.

Abstract:
Single volume, 858-page memorial book of c. 100,000 deportees from the Netherlands who perished in the Holocaust. Contains data previously listed in 42 Dutch 'gedenkboeken' [='memorial books']. Alphabetical entries include last and first name, date and place of birth, and date and place of death, where known. Married women are included in the alphabetical listing by husband's last name. Married names are often hyphenated, with husband's name first followed by maiden name. An asterisk indicates that the preceding information (e.g. date and or location of death) might be incorrect.
