Abstract:
"We tried to find and include the names of the victims of the Holocaust, of those Jewish children, women and men, who were born in the district of Schleswig-Holstein, or had lived there for any length of time. The names of the people and relevant data were gathered with painstaking search and research, examined and compiled with endless patience. Every name has its own history and individual fate: its birthplace and birthdate, the various residences, the destination of deportation and whenever possible the final tragic place and date of death. Not always did we succeed in completing all of these details; the missing information is indicated by small facing triangles while a little sign before the names * indicates that there is still some hope that the person succeeded in surviving."--P. 10, 'Introduction'.
