Abstract:
- "The names listed below are of those who, for different reasons, did not open their bank safes under the 1936 and 1938 Laws of the Hellenic Government and therefore these safes were still sealed in 1939.
- The data was provided before World War II (1939) by the Greek Community for the Protection of National Currency.
- The names of the safe-owners are divided into 6 categories:
- 1. Safe-owners whose address in Greece is confirmed
- 2. Safe-owners whose address is unknown
- 3. Safe-owners who reside outside Greece
- 4. Safe-owners who have passed away
- 5. Safe-owners who are under Court restriction
- 6. Safe-owners whose property has been confiscated.
- The information provided contains the names of the safe-owners, their addresses, the name of the bank where each safe was located and its number.
- The original documents on which this report is based was in greek. In order not to risk the accuracy of the data provided to the Conference, we respected the original spelling, and therefore we have avoided to write the names and addresses of the safe-owners in latin characters." -T.p.
