- USHMM microfilmed the material at the Lviv Oblast Archives.
- According to an undated e-mail from Joyce Field (jfield@pop.nlci.com), "These data were drawn form lists and individual forms used by the Germans who controlled the ghetto. [...] USHMM microfilmed the material in the Lviv Archives. Similar material is also available at Yad Vashem. It was computerized by volunteers at USHMM in 1997 and will be submitted to JewishGen in an Excel file. [...] The names in this index are taken from documents (on microfilm and now in the USHMM Archives) related to Jews in Lvov (Lemberg, Lviv), Poland and surrounding areas for the period 1942-1945. Many of these documents consist of correspondence from companies in the Lvov area to the German authorities regarding the status of Jews who had been detailed to them for slave labor."
