Abstract:
Part of the "Lodz ShtetLinks" website hosted by JewishGen, this online article describes the activities of the Monumentum Iudaicum Lodzense Foundation (Address: ul. Piotrkowska 104, Lodz 90926, Poland ; Tel: (0 42) 38 40 80, Fax: (0 42) 38 41 24 ; Website: http://www.lodzjews.org/), the extent of newly discovered Jewish communal and Holocaust-related records in Lodz' local archives (including registers, directories and deportation lists to the Lodz Ghetto from a number of localities), the creation of a Lodz Jewish Museum, the preservation and restoration of the Jewish Cemetery of Lodz, and the activities of the Foundation founder's brother Wiktor Celler, a Polish solicitor, towards restitution of Jewish properties.
