Notes:
The second of a series of lists submitted together to the Commissariat of Jewish Affairs in Sofia, by N. Gerchev, district (oblast) police chief and concurrent delegate of the Commissariat in Shumen. The people listed comprised 44 households of Jewish residents of Sofia who were sent to Shumen on a temporary basis pursuant to the Commissariat's expropriation and resettlement program. The former Sofia addresses are given for each household. Despite the title of the list, not all the persons listed actually arrived in Shumen. Twelve of the working age males are noted as "trudovak", i.e., performing forced labor service. One more is "interned", presumably at Somovit.
