Abstract:
The mixed Franco-German title for these records, "Inventaire des Ermittlungssachen (affaires judiciaires) du Devisenschutzkommando," translates as "Inventory of litigation matters (judicial affairs) of the Security Command for Foreign Exchange". The Devisenschutzkommando (DSK) was a special currency police unit of the SS that were also charged with the identification and confiscation of Jewish-owned diamonds, art, bullion and other valuables. This alphabetical list is of Belgian Jews whose assets and property were confiscated by the Nazis. The entries display place of residence, Devisenschutzkommando dossier number, and year of confiscation for each. Some entries are accompanied by an explanatory note.
