Provenance:
The approximately 700 name lists that comprise the microfilm collection of World Jewish Congress records held by the American Jewish Archives in Cincinnatti, Ohio (Website: http://www.americanjewisharchives.org) were identified by former Director of the Registry of Holocaust Survivors, Ms. Sarah Ogilvie. The microfilm was purchased by the Registry of Holocaust Survivors from the American Jewish Archives, and then transferred to the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum Archives Collections in 1997. This JewishGen-created database was derived from only that portion of the WJC collection that includes Holocaust survivor information, Series D, Sets 49 - 51 and 55 - 57. Due to the quantity of records within these sets, additional data will be added to this database over time. The data files currently referenced in this catalog record were received by the Survivors Registry via an email dated 17 July 2006 from Survivors Registry Volunteer Mr. Peter Landé. Subsequent updated and expanded versions of this data may be available at a later date, and on the JewishGen website (www.jewishgen.org).
