Abstract:
- Although containing no alphabetical name registers as such of those who perished in the Holocaust, the work does include an extensive unalphabetical section (p. 390-507) of family and other memorials to former residents of Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi [formerly: Akerman] and nearby towns, most with portraits and biographical information, with some memorials being for those who died before or after the Holocaust.
- NOTE: Although the aforementioned memorials are not alphabetically arranged, the work contains several Hebrew name indexes by town which will assist the reader in locating appropriate memorials:
- -- Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi ("Akerman", p. 509-510)
- -- Tarutyne ("Trotino", p. 510-511)
- -- Arcyz ("Artsiz", p. 511)
- -- Tatarbunary ("Tartarbunar", p. 511)
- -- Sarata ("Saratah", p. 511)
- -- Nikolayevka-Novorossiyskaya ("Bairamtschah", p. 511)
- -- Sabo ("Shava", p. 383)
- A transliterated English language surname index to these memorials can also be found at http://www.jewishgen.org/yizkor/akkerman/akk390.html, though judging from comparisons with the book's Hebrew original it appears to be incomplete as of September 2009.
- Also includes alphabetical name registers of former residents (primarily Holocaust survivors) with their current locations (as of publication) in Israel from the following Bessarabian towns:
- -- Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi ("Yots'e Akerman b'Erets", p. 377-378)
- -- Tarutyne ("Yots'e Trotino", p. 379-380)
- -- Arcyz ("Yots'e Artsiz", p. 380-381)
- -- Tatarbunary ("Yots'e Tartarbunar b'Erets", p. 381-382 )
- -- Sarata ("Rashimot yots'e Saratah", p. 382)
- -- Nikolayevka-Novorossiyskaya ("Yots'e Bairamtschah b'Erets", p. 383)
- -- Sabo ("Yots'e Shava", p. 383)
