Abstract:
Non-alphabetical register of names from gravestones of the Jewish cemetery of Bardejov, Slovakia. While most gravestones in this index are dated during the pre-War and pre-Holocaust period, many are dated between 1939 and 1945 [i.e. 5699 to 5705 by the Hebrew calendar]. The register is arranged by grave number with columnar entries for grave number, name [i.e. given name], father/mother [i.e. given names], spouse, date [i.e. according to the Hebrew calendar] and year [i.e. according to the Hebrew calendar], with additional parallel columns in Hebrew containing the same information. With only few exceptions, surnames are not generally given (as per traditional Jewish practice).
