Abstract:
Pages 3 through 10 of this inaugural issue of "UNRRA Team News" contain name registers of officials and staff of United Nations Relief and Rehabilitation Administration (UNRRA) Area Teams (i.e. displaced persons camps) in postwar occupied Germany and Austria as of October 1945. Registers are ordered by Area Team (AT) number with their locations also given. This location information may be useful for those researching postwar International Tracing Service (ITS) records, where only an Area Team number may be given (e.g. "AT-510" [= Bremen, Germany]). Name entries include surname, forename initial and code indicating function or position. This issue also includes the article "A Human Jig-Saw Puzzle: The Central Tracing Bureau" (p. 1-2) describing this predecessor organization of the International Tracing Service (ITS).
