Abstract:
- Webpage with thumnailed image links to facsimiles of the 92 page deportation list of the 32. Osttransport [= 32nd East-Transport], a collective deportation convoy said to have included deportees not only from Berlin, but also from the so-called "Fabrikaktion" [i.e. "Factory Action", whereby Jews, whose deportations had been hitherto delayed owing to their employment in war essential factories in locations throughout Germany, were at last deported], a group of Jews brought from Norway, and Jews from other locations throughout Germany, including East Prussia (Insterburg and Tilsit), Pomerania, Magdeburg, Hamburg, Stuttgart, Trier, Essen, Frankfurt am Main, Dortmund, Paderborn, Bielefeld, Hannover, Leipzig und Dresden.
[English translation: "On March 2, 1943 1,529 Berlin Jews were deported, at the same time as the 2nd Transport of the "factory action," to Auschwitz in the 32nd East-Transport. There were also 59 deportees from East Prussia, including 18 from Insterburg and 36 from Tilsit, 5 deportees each from Pomerania and Magdeburg, and one person each from Hamburg and Hohen Neuendorf. Among the deported were 158 Jews from Norway (transport numbers 1554-1711), which on February 25th had been transferred to the transport ship "Gotenland" arriving at Stettin on February 27th. From Stettin they were said to have been brought under National Security Head Office (RSHA) control with several special cars attached to a regular train to Berlin and originally to have been connected to the [previous] East-Transport of March 1st. In Auschwitz, 894 Jews were registered on 3.3.43, including 585 men and 309 women. On the basis of the assigned prisoner numbers it can be said that on this day in addition to the Berlin Jews numerous deportees arrived from other places across Germany in Auschwitz, including from Stuttgart, Trier, Essen, Frankfurt/Main, Dortmund, Paderborn, Bielefeld, Hannover, Leipzig and Dresden. Using the statistics of the National Association [of Jews in Germany], the total number [of persons on this transport] may be reckoned as 1360."]--http://www.statistik-des-holocaust.de/list_ger_ber_ot32.html (Last Accessed: 27 May 2014)
