At first I searched Itka Teller and no results came up. I tried exact, fuzzy, and sounds like searches but they elicited no results. Then I thought that it was very possible Itka was a nickname, so I searched for the last name Teller. However, there were too many results to sift through. In order to narrow the search I also put in the parameters of her birth year, given to me by the information on School #10B. I then sifted through the results to find an Ita Teller who was born in 1928 putting her at the appropriate age for School #10B. However, there was not a lot of information provided about Ita, so I did some extra research to find if Itka was indeed a nickname for Ita. I googled the two names and I am fairly comfortable in saying that Itka is a nickname for Ita, therefore I think that Itka Teller could very well be Ita Teller.

First I started with the search for Itka’s family members, which resulted in a list of 264 names. I went through all the names and was able to identify her two siblings as well as her mother and father using the address in the ghetto to identify them as a family. In looking at her family I discovered that her brother died on 13 July, 1942. There was not a transport listed for this day, which leads me to believe Abram died in the ghetto. However, his cause of death is not noted so we cannot say whether he was killed or died of natural causes. However, on the rest of the family’s files it says nothing regarding movement outside the ghetto.

Thank you for going through all of these names to find her family. Don't forget to look at the last name Teler, too.
