User Comments:

There were 15 names that came up in the database when we did a search for Ester and Estera Malka Abramowicz seemed to be the only probable name since she was born in the year 1924, which fits the age of a Gymnasium student.

Other Information:

Ghetto address: A Hitler 17

Ghetto address: Richter 11 17

I agree that you have found the most likely candidate to have signed the ghetto album. There are several Esteras who were born in 1919, but as you suggest, they are just a little older than the oldest gymnasium students. Thanks for your work--see you in stage 2!
Stage 2: The Ghetto
Father's Name:
Mordcha Abramowicz
Hospital, Labor, Deportation, and Administrative Records from the Lodz Ghetto
Mother's Name:
Szyfra Abramowicz
Hospital, Labor, Deportation, and Administrative Records from the Lodz Ghetto
User Comments:

Hersz Abramowicz may be a brother since he has the same ghetto addresses and his birthdate is Feb 12 1926.

Mordcha Abramowicz may be the father since he has the same ghetto addresses, but his second address says Richter 11/13 17 instead of Richter 11 17.  His birthdate is May 3, 1895. His ghetto note is listed as GEST 17.7.44 meaning he died on July 17 1944.

We think Mordka Abramowicz is the same person as Mordcha because their names are similar but with different spelling. Their birthdays and ghetto addresses are the same. However, Mordka does not have a ghetto note.

Rojza Abramowicz may be a sister since her ghetto addresses are the same. Like Mordcha, her second address is also listed as Richter 11/13 17. Her birthdate is Aug 18, 1928.

Szyfra Abramowicz may be the mother since her ghetto addresses are the same and her birthdate is June 12, 1902. Her ghetto note is listed as WYM 15.4.43 A.G. meaning she had a change of registration to a new address on April 15, 1943.

Agreed on all counts. Very sound research.

What do you think the different spellings of Mordka/Mordcha and the absence of a ghetto note on Mordka's record suggest? I agree that they're the same person.
