User Comments:

I think Srul Hauzer and Chaim-Izrael Hauzer were the same person. Srul is a nickname for Izrael. Also, the ages correspond. There are only three male Hauzers and one male Hauser (List H, pg. 4) that were born between 1926-1933 (the added school ages) on the students name list, and there are only three male Hauzers and one male Hauser on the database that fall into that age range. Of these names, only one of them has any form of Izrael in it, and that is Chaim-Izrael Hauzer.

There are other Izrael Hausers and Hauzers, but only Chaim-Israel falls into the right age range, even with the fuzzy or DM Soundex on. Chaim-Izrael means "life to Israel", so he could have abreviated his name to the common Nickname "Srul".

Did you also look at Srulek Hauser? I agree that either boy is a possible candidate; please enter any names, dates of birth, and addresses you think might apply to anyone who could have signed this name in the album.
