User Comment:
I first tried to search the database under the exact setting for the first and last name, but it returned no matches. I then searched the database for the fuzzy setting on the last name of Zaltz, and it didn't really return any names that would fit for the student that we were looking for. Finally, I searched under the fuzzy setting for the last name of Zalz, and didn't return any suitable candidates for that particular last name, but by looking under the last name of Zalc I was able to find Pinkus (d.o.b. January 16, 1926). His occupation was listed as SChueler, and he had two addresses (R Hess and Muehlgasse) listed, but there was no additional information listed in his notes.
Approver Comment:
Agree that this is the boy who most likely signed the album. According to the the Polish Given Names Database Pinchas and Pinkus are two versions of the same name. Minor spelling differences of the last name can be a result of translation mistakes or simply that the handwriting was difficult to read. Good luck in the following stages!
