School #1 was a religious school for boys in Lodz. Most students at School #1 in September 1941 were between 9 and 15 years old, meaning that they were born between 1926 and 1932.
School #1 was located at Goplánska 26. The street name was changed to Buchbinderstrasse when German occupation began in 1939. See
www.lodz-ghetto.com for a map of Goplánska and the rest of the Lodz ghetto.

User Comment:
I believe this is the right Mosze even though there are two other Moszek Aron Warzawski's listed in the Lodz Ghetto database, because of the location of his address to School #1. School #1 is located on Goplanska street and Mosze lives on Snycerska street which is a few streets away. Unlike both Moszeks who lived on Siegfriedstrasse or in Polish Marysinska street which would have been a little far for school children. I used this website to find a map of the Ghetto http://www.centrumdialogu.com/en/history and the JewishGen website's list ofPolish streets that were changed to German streets within the Ghetto http://kehilalinks.jewishgen.org/Lodz/streets-index1_pol.htm.

We do not yet know what the relationship is between school location and home residence--and given how often families appeared to move within the ghetto, it is difficult to draw conclusions about proximity to schools given the amount of information available at this time. I would still add the Moszek Arons as possible candidates.

Thank you for beginning research on Mosze Warszawski! I agree that the name you found in the database is one possible match for this student--in 1941, he would have been 12 years old, the right age to attend school #1. In the future, please remember to leave a research note explaining your process and conclusions to your fellow researchers.
I also found a Moszek Aron Warszawski, born on February 2, 1929 (two records for him in the database)--what do you think about this boy? Do you think these three entries might ALL refer to the same person? In any case, Moszek Aron looks like another possible candidate to have signed this name.
Since his last name ends in -ski, remember to look for Warszawska (the female ending) as well.
