User Comment:
I found RYWKA BAJLA RZEPKOWICZ born 12 Jul 1927 and she lived at Blatbind 32 Flat 1 and she died on 22 May 1943. She seems like the best match for Bajla Rzepkowicz.
Expert Reviewer Comment:
I agree. I've been able to duplicate your research, and there does not appear to be another likely match for Bajla Rzepkowicz. It also helps that she is recorded as having been a schuelerin.

I also agree this is the person who most likely signed this name in the album.

I found Rwyka in the Lodz Ghetto Hospital records un Rwyka-B and it says she was born 1927 in Jezow, she died from Lungentuberkulose, and her death date of 22 May 1943. For her family I found her father as Abram Lajbus born 25 Feb 1898, her mother Genendel born 15 July 1894 (she also appears with the name Rzyskowicz) her bother Symcha Benem born 24 July 1921 and he died 6 Sep 1942, her sister Sura Basza born 30 Jan 1922 and died 27 May 1942, her brother Josek born 5 march 1932 (also appears as Josek Zysman) and her sister Mariem Elka also born 5 March 1932 and died 6 Nov 1942. Given the fact that Josek and Miriem share the same birthdate may suggest that one of them is perhaps a close cousin or perhaps they could be twins.
Expert Reviewer Comment:
Note that her address is listed as "27 Str. 32." This makes me wonder if the number 27 was somehow shorthand for Blatbindergasse, since she lived at number 32 on that street. I also noticed that, at some point, they appear to move from apartment 1 to apartment 7 at Blatbindergasse 32. In fact, both parents are listed as having lived in both apartments.

Perhaps they moved to apartment 1 after Rywka's siblings died but before she died? Though, if so, it is odd that Rywka is never listed as having lived at apartment 7.

Sura Basza is listed as having lived in apartment 7, and she died on May 27, 1942 at age 20. This is also the case with the other siblings -- Symcha died during the Gespherre Aktion on September 6, 1942, and Mariem died on November 6, 1942; all lived in apartment 7. Because the number 7 and 1 look similar, one consideration is the possibility that the information may have been poorly transcribed or data may have been mis-keyed when entered into the electronic database. Also, it may be conceivable, though I think unlikely, that the family occupied two apartments.

Great research!
