User Comment:

I thought Hawa was a likely misspelling of Chawa, so I searched for Chawa under DM Soundex and for Cyncynatus under fuzzy. There were two Chawas, but only one was the right age to have attended School #8B.

I agree you've found the student who most likely signed this name in the album. According to the Polish Given Names Database Hawa and Chawa are two versions of the same name. Thank you for your research!

User Comment:

I matched Chawa to her family via matching addresses, and in one case a partial. Zefta (b. 1892), Chawa's possible mother/aunt, lived at Hanseaten 26 but in a different flat than the rest of the family. Nonetheless, I've put her down as a possible mother figure.

The siblings/cousins that lived at the exact same address as Chawa include Estera (b. 1916), Pesa (b. 1921), and Moszek (b. 1926).

Chawa was deported on September 15, 1942, although no deportation on record has that date, so as of now Chawa's fate is uncertain. Like Chawa, Zefta was also deported on a date with no deportation on record: May 27, 1942; as was Pesa, on July 26 ,1944. Estera had two notes for one date in her profile, indicating that she was either deported or moved (unclear as of now) on November 25, 1941. Moszek was deported to Chelmno on June 28, 1944.

Thank you for adding Chawa's family to the record. I agree that the secondary sources don't indicate deportations to Chelmno on that date. Are you able to find out more about Chawa's fate in the next stages?
