Gender: girl
School:
Gymnasium and high school for girls
Gymnasium and high school students were typically between 14 and 20 years old. A gymnasium student in September 1941 was likely born between 1921 and 1927.
The gymnasium and high school for girls was located on Otylii. The street name was changed to Ottilienstrasse when German occupation began in 1939. See
www.lodz-ghetto.com for a map of Otylii and the rest of the Lodz ghetto.

User Comment:
We found two spelling variations for her name (Felicia, Felicja) as well as a nickname (Lusia). We think that they are the same person as they all have the same birthday (April 12, 1926).
From USHMM Holocaust Encyclopedia we found that she was born in Lodz, Poland; her actual town remains unknown at this moment.

Looks like a clear match. She lived at MATROSEN 14 37 and moved to RATSCHER 14. Good job. In the future, cite the Website for the encyclopedia as a source -- in this case, http://www.ushmm.org/wlc/idcard.php?lang=en&ModuleId=10006560.

As no results were found regarding Felicja being transferred out of the ghetto to be used for slave labor at Auschwitz (Auschwitz or the HASAG-Pelcery camp near Czetochowa), the assumption follows that she was not deported to Auschwitz. However, after finding her biography, she tells of being transported to Auschwitz and her subsequent life.

User Comment:
Two dates are cited for her deportation/arrival at Auschwitz. As those dates are only one day apart, we can infer that Felicja was deported in August of 1944 on either the 16th or 17th to Auschwitz. After Auschwitz, Karo was transferred to both Bad-Kudova and Graeban, as cited in her biography, only to end in Bergen-Belsen.
Subsequently, according to USHMM Holocaust Encyclopedia, Felicja Karo was liberated by British troops from Bergen-Belsen on April 15, 1945.

Good work! I agree that, based on the source you cite, Felicja was at all of these camps. Looking forward to seeing what you find in the next stages.

Felicia Karo Weingarten survived the Lodz Ghetto and several concentration camps. She left for the United States on April 8, 1948. (The Red Jacket, Felicia Karo Weingarten)
She married Holocaust survivor Leon Weingarten in New York in September 1948. They later moved to St. Paul, Minnesota where Felicia began a career as both a speaker and author, hoping to tell her life story to the world.
Leon and Felicia had two sons: Jeffrey and Steven. (www.mnhs.org)
